We’ll learn Thursday night when the Democratic conclave concludes. ABC and CBS join the Democrats at 10 p.m. NBC starts its coverage at 9 p.m. (the Peacock Network went with the NFL season opener Wednesday). PBS coverage starts at 7. CNN, Fox News Channel and MSNBC will offer extensive coverage, as will Central Florida News 13. If you want to see the podium without interruption, C-SPAN is your best bet.
The Democrats will face a lot of competition. The MTV Video Music Awards run from 8 to 10 p.m. on MTV, of course. Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner will preview ”The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2.” Comedian Kevin Hart hosts. Presenters include Andy Samberg, Rashida Jones, Ke$ha, Miley Cyrus and the U.S. Women’s Olympics Gymnastics Team that won gold at the London Olympics. There will be performances by Lil Wayne, 2 Chainz, Nicki Minaj, Rihanna, Frank Ocean, Taylor Swift, Green Day, Alicia Keys and One Direction.
The latest installment of “Big Brother” unfolds live at 9 p.m. on CBS. ABC counters with the season finale of “Rookie Blue” at 9.
The results show of “America’s Got Talent” has been delayed to 8 p.m. on NBC. If you want more Howard Stern, the radio superstar will be a guest on “Late Show With David Letterman” at 11:35 on CBS.
Also in late night, Ellen DeGeneres stops by “The Tonight Show With Jay Leno” at 11:35 on NBC. “South Park” creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker visit “Jimmy Kimmel Live” at midnight on ABC. “The Daily Show With Jon Stewart” weighs in on the Democrats at 11 on Comedy Central. Look to Stewart to provide the most memorable comedy.
